Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers on how we work, what we advise on and how an enquiry becomes a live production, from first call to the final broadcast.
Questions we hear most often
-
What kinds of productions do you work on?
We work on live news programmes, interviews and studio shows, and on stage broadcasts such as concerts, festivals and parties. Some clients need a single skill, such as lighting or sound, while others ask us to look after the whole production. We will tell you plainly if a job is a poor fit for us.
-
Can you work with the equipment we already own?
Yes, and we usually prefer to. Daniel and the engineering side begin by listing what you have, checking how it connects and finding where signals are lost or delayed. We recommend new purchases only where existing kit cannot do the job reliably, and we explain the reason for each one.
-
Do you provide camera crews as well as advice?
We do. Priya supervises camera crews on studio and stage productions, plans shot lists and works with the director on framing and coverage. You can book crews for a single broadcast or for a regular programme, and we agree the crew size with you before the day.
-
How do you deal with poor studio acoustics?
Tom surveys the room first, listening for echo, flutter and background noise from ventilation or neighbouring spaces. He then specifies acoustic panels and microphone placement suited to the room and your budget. Often a few well-placed treatments and better microphone positions improve intelligibility more than expensive new equipment would.
-
Can you cover an event at our venue rather than a studio?
Yes. For concerts, festivals and parties we bring multi-camera coverage, a mobile gallery and signal feeds, and we visit the venue beforehand to check power, cable routes and sightlines. Outdoor and temporary sites need more planning than a fixed studio, so we ask for access to the site early.
-
Do you train our own staff?
Training is part of our workflow audit service. We review how your team produces a programme, write clear run sheets and then teach people on the equipment they use every day. The aim is that your team can run the studio confidently without calling us for routine shows.
-
How does an engagement begin and how is it paid for?
You send an enquiry through the contact page, and we reply with questions about your production. We then send a written quotation or confirmation, and once the work is agreed we issue an invoice, payable by bank transfer. Nothing is bought or paid for on this website.
-
What happens if we need to cancel or change a booking?
Changes and cancellations are handled under our payment and refund policy, which sets out what applies and when. Tell us as early as you can, because crews and equipment are arranged around your date. We will always confirm any change to a booking in writing.
